Carpoolers Technology Venue

I haven’t been as big of a fan of Carpoolers as I thought I would be going into the show. However ‘Who Would You Do’ was just the best Carpoolers episode thus far. The idea behind this episode is that Dougy is driving (a Prius, the same car I drive) and they were playing this game ‘Who would you do?’. Dougy gives the idea of a date night to help everyones marriage, and that is when Gracen takes his wife on a date and plays the game of who would you do? This is hilarious mainly because his wife picks Laird, which as any man knows would be the 100% wrong answer.

The show is driven by a few things, slapstick humor, carpool humor, and Marmaduke. That is right I said, Marmaduke who is in each episode only for a few minutes but is Napoleon Dynamite type humor has brought laughs in each episode and continued to in this episode. Although I don’t know about the life span of Carpoolers, each week I worry that the ratings of Cavemen could really hurt this show, and although I loved this episode I hope to be able to review several more in the future.

The first half of the TV season can be a pretty scary time for any fan of a new show. I remember a few years back I got really into Commander in Chief on ABC and quite frankly it was yanked right out from under me. This year E! Online has compiled a list of the new shows and what there chances are of making it through the season and there future in television. Here is what E! Online had to say about Carpoolers:

Carpoolers (25%): Its premiere episode scored a nice 9 million viewers, with many most likely tuning in to check out its lead-in (the much talked about Cavemen). Unfortunately, even though the second episode was even better than the first, Carpoolers lost a lot of eyeballs this week and needs better ratings in order to stick around.

This is about exactly what I thought of Carpoolers chances to stay alive. It really needs to find that niche audience, and of course in today’s day and age it needs to find it fast!
